About this item

  • Binchotan (Japanese Oak) activated charcoal is the highest grade of charcoal. These charcoals are from the Kishu region of Japan.
  • Binchotan charcoal is effective at absorbing odor, reducing water hardness, and improving the taste of drinking water. Filtering time for 3-5 gallons of water is 9-10 hours.
  • Use 1 stick for 3-5 gallons of water; stick is approximately 3-3.5cm in diameter and 15cm in length.
  • Reactivate charcoal every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and letting dry.
  • Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.
